File Formats

Our experienced pre-press operatives try to accommodate the vast differentiation of graphic and commercial software applications. There are certain specifications and regulations that we try to ask our clients to adhere to, although we are willing to discuss and advise where necessary.

The most straight forward file formats we accept are PDF (preferred), JPEG, TIFF, PSD, AI and EPS.

If you are suppying your artwork as a PDF, you can download our PDF presets here.

If you are suppying your artwork as a TIFF or PSD, please ensure the layers are flattened.

If you are supplying your artwork as AI or EPS, please ensure fonts are converted to outline.

We also accept Indesign (CS6) and Quark (9.3) documents. Please supply all fonts and images associated with artwork.

Images

All artwork and images supplied for print must be in CMYK and a minimum of 300pdi in resolution.

Artwork trim and bleed

It is essential that there is a minimum of 3mm bleed around your artwork. This is for trimming purposes.

What is bleed? – If an image or colour goes right to the edge of your artwork, 'bleed' is the distance beyond the edge of the paper/final trimmed artwork. It is required to avoid the possibility of the white of the paper showing if the guillotine that trims the final print work is just a hairline out of position.
